Kelly Rae Cunningham is a self taught painter, whose work is grounded in experimentation and exploration. She takes a process driven approach to painting and enjoys many mediums as they lend different qualities to the process. Her paintings employ layers of color, worked with palette knives and brushes, whimsical use of dot and line, and energetic brush strokes. You’ll see abstraction that combines creative mark-making, and gestural application of bold colors, and always Tiffany blue. She has been painting for twenty plus years. Her work is part of private and corporate collections all over the US. Kelly Rae is an Artist and Interior Designer who brings her love of color and pattern to everything she creates. Kelly Rae lives in West Seattle, WA with her wife, nine year old daughter, and a darling springer spaniel named Barley. Her Art Studio is located in her backyard surrounded by an (delightfully)overgrown garden.

This collection of paintings "Quiet Time" is a reflection of her current desire for ease, light, and air. These paintings, while mostly white, are composed of many layers of paint, color and chaos paired back to "quiet". Upon a closer look you can see the back and forth, and the struggle underneath the quiet calm.
